Who We Are
Older youth and young adults serve as mentors to younger peers and work side by side with others to transform their communities ... and themselves. http://jysep.org
What We Do
We would like to extend an invitation to an upcoming training for students interested in serving on teams of mentors or animators for groups of middle school students. The Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program has been in a posture of learning in the Metro Atlanta area for over ten years. The purpose of the program is for junior youth, ages 11-14 years old, to develop their power of expression, strive for excellence, and benefit from social interaction with older youth that strengthens their capacities to be of service in the community. Youth and adults can be trained to serve the aims of the program as mentors to the junior youth. There are a number of students who have been trained to be mentors or animators from the campuses of Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University, North Carolina Central University, and UNC Chapel Hill among other colleges and universities.
