Who We Are

The Dalton State Campus Garden began in 2019 thanks to the vision and advocacy of a student worker in the Birdfeeder campus food pantry, who championed the idea of incorporating fresh produce into the space. What started as a student-led initiative quickly gained traction with the support of an adjunct faculty member who played a pivotal role in preparing and guiding the garden’s early development.

In its initial years, the garden served as a grassroots effort to provide food security, hands-on learning opportunities, and community connection. Today, the garden is experiencing a revitalization under the leadership of an AmeriCorps VISTA member. Following a recent relocation, the garden is being built from the ground up once again—growing not just plants, but a renewed sense of purpose, sustainability, and student engagement.

What We Do

Build homes for plants...and confidence.

Our Garden also provides fresh produce and herbs to the Birdfeeder.
