Who We Are
Assured Hospice Care helps to ease the daily demands caregivers and families face while caring for a loved one. With support and training, caregivers and families learn how to meet the patient’s needs, as well as their own. This level of care is also available in skilled nursing or assisted living facilities. Our support to families and caregivers continues for over a year, with bereavement services that include personal counseling and support. We are here to listen!
What We Do
Volunteers serve as members of the hospice team by sharing their skills and interest with our patients and their families. This may involve just sitting and listening to a patient in his/her home or in an assisted living facility. It may involve singing or playing music for a patient, doing a craft, reading scripture, a story or book, or just being a friend to someone who cannot get out to see others. It may involve organizing or cleaning a home. It may be just sitting with a patient that cannot be left alone so that a family member can go to the grocery store. What you do as a volunteer is so very important to these patients and their families. Volunteers will not be asked to do anything that they are uncomfortable doing. Our volunteer coordinator will work with you to accommodate your schedule. You communicate when you are available and what you are comfortable doing. We look for win/win situations... happy volunteers and therefore happy patients!
