Our Outreach Services are a door of opportunity for people to enter CORD programs and to provide support services for both immediate crisis needs and long-term stabilization. The short-term strategy is to simply meet people where they are in life whether unemployed, disabled, victimized, hungry, or homeless. We meet the immediate and support needs of people through our crisis intervention, special events and enrichment opportunities, food bank, mobile food distribution, clothing closet, needs assessment and referrals, transportation, hygienic supplies, or with volunteer services, and additionally, in the case of children and youth, educational enrichment and summer experiences.
Our services approach is relational. We believe that people are valuable and have purpose, and so with intention, we reach those in need and in crisis with respect, honor, and love knowing that transformation comes in relationship and community. Seeing the faces of hunger on a regular basis compels us to continue to reach and to service those who struggle with food insecurities. Poverty is much more than a lack of resources; fundamentally, it is a loss of hope. We want to be a place of transformation, light, and hope for our community, and so we continually strive to bring financial, volunteer, and donated resources together to meet the imposing challenges of our community because together we can make a difference.
