The National Day of Remembrance and Service is a chance to help others in tribute to those killed and injured on September 11, 2001, first responders, and the countless others who serve to defend the nation's freedom.
Event Date: Friday. September 15, 2023
Event Schedule: Check-in and breakfast begin at 8:00 am; the Remembrance ceremony begins at 8:30 am; arrive at your assigned service site by 9:00 am. Projects will end by noon.
Register to volunteer by Friday, September 8. 2023.
Students, faculty, and staff interested in volunteering should complete this form to register. You will have a chance to select if you are volunteering on behalf of a team or on your own. Please note: you can only choose one group to volunteer with. If you need proof of attendance for multiple organizations, we can manage that behind the scenes. Groups will be assigned together as much as possible. If it is a large group, you may be split among multiple sites.
Volunteers will meet at 8:00 am on the QUAD for a remembrance ceremony and breakfast. Following the ceremony, volunteers will go to volunteer sites. Transportation will be provided.
The first 75 students to register will receive a FREE SHIRT at check-in.
More details about specific projects will be sent to you no later than one week before the event. If you have questions, please email Alexandra Sanchez at asanchez@daltonstate.edu.
